Zimbabwe Consolidated Diamond Company (ZCDC) is looking for a highly skilled and experienced SHEQ Manager to join our dynamic team. As the SHEQ Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the implementation and maintenance of effective safety, health, environment, and quality (SHEQ) management systems across our operations.

You will be responsible for driving compliance, mitigating risks, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the success of a leading diamond producer in Zimbabwe.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain the organization’s SHEQ management system, ensuring its effectiveness and alignment with industry best practices.
• Review and implement SHEQ policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct regular audits and inspections to assess the effectiveness of SHEQ systems and identify areas for improvement.
• Identify and assess SHEQ-related risks, develop strategies for their mitigation, and monitor the implementation of appropriate control measures.
• Provide expert advice and guidance on SHEQ matters to all departments and line management, fostering a culture of safety and environmental stewardship.
• Coordinate and participate in incident investigations, root cause analysis, and the development of corrective and preventive actions.
• Plan and oversee SHEQ projects in collaboration with the community, promoting sustainability and forging positive partnerships.
• Develop and deliver training programs to enhance SHEQ awareness and knowledge among employees and contractors.
• Monitor and report on key performance indicators related to SHEQ performance, providing regular updates to management.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging regulations, and technological advancements in SHEQ practices, recommending appropriate measures for implementation.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Degree in Environmental Science, Safety, Health and Environment, or equivalent.
• Post Graduate qualification such as MBA or Master’s Degree in Environmental Studies, SHEQ, or equivalent.
• Professional qualification such as OSHEMAC, NEBOSH, or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years’ proven experience as a SHEQ Manager in the mining or heavy manufacturing industry.
• Strong computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office packages.
• Experience in overseeing internal and external SHEQ systems auditing.
