Zimbabwe Consolidated Diamond Company (ZCDC) is looking for a dedicated and experienced SHEQ Officer to join our dynamic team. As the SHEQ Officer, you will play a crucial role in implementing and maintaining our SHEQ policies and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy working environment.

By identifying risks, providing recommendations, and promoting best practices, you will contribute to the overall success and sustainability of our mining operations. This position offers an attractive remuneration package and opportunities for professional growth.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Implement the organization’s SHEQ policies and procedures to ensure compliance throughout the company.
  • Identify and assess potential risks and hazards, and advise relevant departments on appropriate preventive measures.
  • Recommend and implement measures to maintain a safe and healthy working environment for all employees.
  • Ensure adherence to SHEQ best practices in all production processes and operational activities.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement SHEQ management programs.
  • Monitor and track management review processes, ensuring timely resolutions for continuous improvement.
  • Provide training and guidance to employees on SHEQ policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
  • Participate in incident investigations and root cause analysis, contributing to the development of effective preventive measures.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to SHEQ activities and performance.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A degree in Environmental Science, Safety, Health and Environment, or equivalent.
  • Professional qualifications such as OSHEMAC, NEBOSH, SAMTRAC, or equivalent.
  • Internal Auditing Qualification.
  • Mine Blasting License (an added advantage).
  • A minimum of 3 years’ proven experience in the mining or heavy manufacturing industry.
  • Proficiency in computer literacy, including Microsoft Office packages.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing SHEQ management programs.
