Job Description

Our client, an investment firm with interests in agriculture, energy, and mining, is seeking an ESG and Corporate Responsibility Lead to join its team.

The company is actively involved in sustainable investments and plays a significant role in the growth and development of various sectors. They are committed to promoting environmental and social responsibility within their operations.

Our client is looking for a dedicated and experienced ESG and Corporate Responsibility Lead to join their dynamic team. As the ESG and Corporate Responsibility Lead, you will be responsible for driving the integration of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices within the private equity, energy, agriculture, and mining sectors.

Your role will involve developing and implementing strategies, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring the execution of ESG initiatives. An MBA or professional qualification in addition to relevant experience is highly desirable. Remuneration and other incentives will be provided based on experience and qualifications.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement ESG strategies and initiatives across the private equity, energy, agriculture, and mining sectors.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate ESG practices into investment decision-making processes.
  • Conduct ESG due diligence on potential investments and provide recommendations.
  • Monitor and assess ESG performance of portfolio companies and develop improvement plans.
  • Engage with stakeholders, including investors, portfolio companies, and industry bodies, to promote ESG awareness and best practices.
  • Stay updated on ESG trends, regulations, and reporting requirements and ensure compliance.
  • Drive the development and implementation of corporate responsibility programs.
  • Create and manage ESG reporting frameworks and communicate ESG performance to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide training and guidance to internal teams on ESG principles and practices.
  • Collaborate with external consultants and experts to enhance ESG integration and performance.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A degree in finance, sustainability, environmental science, or a related field.
  • An MBA or professional qualification in a relevant field is an added advantage.
  • Demonstrated experience in ESG integration within the private equity, energy, agriculture, or mining sectors.
  • Proven ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong knowledge of ESG principles and practices.
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to drive ESG initiatives from strategy to execution.
  • Familiarity with ESG reporting frameworks and regulations.
