Job Description

CeSHHAR Zimbabwe is a leading organization specializing in sexual health, HIV, and AIDS research in Zimbabwe. Established in [insert year if available], CeSHHAR Zimbabwe works in collaboration with the MOHCC and NAC to implement a National Sex Work Programme aimed at reducing HIV transmission among female, male, and transgender sex workers.

By increasing awareness and access to STI and HIV prevention, testing, and treatment services, CeSHHAR Zimbabwe plays a crucial role in reducing the transmission of infections within these key populations.

CeSHHAR Zimbabwe is looking for a skilled and dedicated Driver to join our dynamic team. As a Driver, you will play a vital role in supporting our project team by ensuring safe and efficient transportation to various locations. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the organization’s mission of reducing HIV acquisition and transmission among sex workers and their clients.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Safely and responsibly operate the project vehicle, ensuring compliance with road traffic rules and regulations.
  • Transport the project team to field locations on a regular basis, maintaining punctuality and adhering to the project schedule.
  • Conduct regular checks on the vehicle, promptly reporting any faults or maintenance requirements to the vehicle fleet manager.
  • Ensure the project vehicle is equipped with the necessary tools and accessories for smooth operations.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as checking oil, water, tires, and other vehicle fluids.
  • Maintain accurate records in the vehicle log book, documenting mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents or repairs.
  • Manage fuel usage efficiently and prepare monthly fuel reconciliations for the project vehicle.
  • Assist the project team during community outreach activities by driving them to various locations.
  • Demonstrate a high level of professionalism, confidentiality, and non-judgmental engagement with beneficiaries and stakeholders.
  • Work collaboratively within a team framework, supporting colleagues and contributing to a positive working environment.
  • Plan and organize logistics for transportation, ensuring timely and efficient movement of personnel and equipment.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Possession of a clean Class Four driver’s license.
  • Valid defensive driver’s license.
  • Valid Medical Certificate.
  • A mature and well-organized individual with the ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Fluency in English, Shona, or Ndebele.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft packages.
  • High respect for confidentiality and a sense of professionalism.
  • Strong planning and administrative abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and effectively manage time.
