Job Description

Musasa is a national NGO that has been dedicated to addressing Violence against Women (VAW) since its establishment in 1988.

Musasa focuses on providing direct support to survivors of gender-based violence, conducting public education and awareness campaigns, and advocating for an end to violence against women. Join our team and contribute to our mission of creating a safer society for all.

Musasa is looking for a reliable and skilled Project Driver to join our dynamic team in Hwange. As a Project Driver, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe transportation of clients to and from various destinations within the country.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate a vehicle to transport clients and staff members to and from designated locations.
  • Assist clients during entry and exit from the vehicle, providing necessary support and courtesies.
  • Maintain responsibility for the care and maintenance of the vehicle, including fuel consumption and allocation.
  • Maintain accurate records of mileage and facilitate the procurement of services and equipment for the vehicles.
  • Adhere to traffic rules and regulations at all times, ensuring the safety of passengers and other road users.
  • Maintain a good knowledge of vehicle insurance policies and ensure compliance with coverage requirements.
  • Execute routine checks on the vehicle to detect any mechanical faults or issues and report them promptly.
  • Assist in the coordination of vehicle repairs and maintenance activities as required.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization within the vehicle, ensuring a comfortable and safe environment for passengers.
  • Provide support in administrative tasks related to vehicle operations and maintenance when necessary.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Possession of a valid driver’s license and a valid Defensive Driving Certificate is mandatory.
  • Candidates with a trade test certificate or any recognized traffic certificate will have an added advantage.
  • In-depth knowledge of traffic rules and regulations is essential.
  • Familiarity with vehicle insurance policies and their application.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in administration and maintenance of vehicles within an NGO setup.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in all local languages.
  • Mature and professional demeanor.
