As a Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for managing financial accounting processes, collaborating with the Finance Manager on financial reports, working closely with auditors, developing robust accounting systems and controls, overseeing treasury planning and control, conducting ledger reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with financial statutory requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage financial accounting processes within the organization.
• Assist the Finance Manager in preparing financial accounting reports.
• Collaborate with internal and external auditors for periodic audits.
• Develop and maintain sound financial accounting systems and controls.
• Plan and control treasury activities.
• Review creditors and general ledger reconciliations.
• Ensure compliance with financial statutory and legal requirements.
• Analyze financial data and provide insights to support decision-making.
• Monitor and report on budget performance.
• Stay updated on SHEQ Management Systems and adhere to them.
• Maintain accurate and organized financial records.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Degree in Finance, Business Studies, Accounting, or equivalent.
• Postgraduate qualification such as an MBA or Master’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or equivalent is an added advantage.
• Professional qualification such as CIMA, ACCA, CIS, CPA, CA, or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of proven supervisory-level experience in accounting.
• Experience in a mining environment or heavy manufacturing industry is advantageous.
• Sound knowledge of SHEQ Management Systems.
