The Avenues Clinic is looking for two dedicated and dynamic Admissions Officers to join our esteemed team. As Admissions Officers, you will play a crucial role in facilitating the admission process and ensuring that our clients receive the medical services they require.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Welcome and assist clients, ensuring their needs are met promptly and professionally.
  • Conduct initial assessments of patients upon admission, adhering to established triaging protocols.
  • Manage bookings received from doctors’ rooms and other medical institutions, accurately recording them on the admissions list.
  • Handle in-person and telephone inquiries, providing accurate information and guidance to clients.
  • Verify and communicate deposit amounts required for specific procedures or diagnoses to clients.
  • Pre-notify medical aid funders for admitted patients to determine member benefits.
  • Use Health 263 to check the active status of medical aid members for casualty patients, informing them of any financial shortfalls and conducting biometric verifications when necessary.
  • Review admissions and casualty forms for completeness and accuracy, ensuring all necessary information is provided.
  • Receive payments from clients, issue receipts, and accurately record all transactions.
  • Enter patient details into the Trimed System, post payments, and generate hospital numbers.
  • Utilize manual receipt books for doctors and old Trimed bills to issue receipts.
  • Perform shift audits in the Trimed System at the end of each shift.
  • Reconcile transactions and complete banking forms to ensure accurate financial records.
  • Receive notifications from ambulance crews regarding incoming patients, preparing necessary arrangements.
  • Update patient information in the computer system for network usage.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure a seamless admission process and excellent patient experience.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Diploma in General Registered Nursing/Primary Care Nurse Certificate is essential.
  • Minimum of 5 O Levels, including English and Mathematics.
  • Additional qualification in Marketing, Accounting, or Public Relations is an advantage.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on providing excellent patient experience.
  • Proficient computer skills, including knowledge of relevant software applications.
  • Excellent communication and listening skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively with a diverse group of specialist doctors.
  • Maturity and professionalism in handling sensitive patient information.
