Job Description

A local organization is offering an exciting opportunity for a Procurement Graduate Trainee to join their team.

With a focus on procurement management, the organization is committed to implementing effective procurement processes and ensuring the continuous supply of goods. They strive to reduce costs, improve operational efficiencies, and contribute to overall business performance.

A local procurement company is looking for a dedicated Procurement Graduate Trainee to play a vital role in their organization.

The Trainee will undergo an intensive two-year structured traineeship to gain practical experience in procurement management. Remuneration details are not provided.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Undertake clerical procurement duties in the procurement department.
  • Receive and process complete and approved requisitions from users.
  • Prepare and issue Request for Quotations (RFQs) to suppliers.
  • Receive and evaluate quotations and responses to RFQs and RFPs.
  • Follow the policies and procedures of the Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Act.
  • Prepare comparative schedules and issue purchase orders for recommended suppliers.
  • Liaise with the Finance team to ensure timely payment of supplier invoices.
  • Ensure the continuous supply of required goods and address any supply problems promptly.
  • Follow up on pending goods deliveries.
  • Reconcile procurement activities, including requests, invoices, supplier statements, and goods receipts.
  • Assist in drafting bidding documents.
  • Participate in the tendering process and contribute to drafting contracts.
  • Prepare procurement reports and PRAZ returns.
  • Maintain a safe and systematic storage of procurement documents and relevant items.
  • Devise strategies to reduce costs, improve operational efficiencies, and add value.
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Carry out any other duties within the scope of the job.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Recent graduate with an upper second-class degree (2.1) or better in Procurement and Supply/Supply Chain Management or equivalent.
  • One year of relevant work-related learning experience at a reputable organization.
  • Strong work ethic and a passion for learning.
