Job Description

Musasa is a national NGO that has been working since 1988 to combat gender-based violence against women and girls in Zimbabwe.

With a focus on prevention, protection, and support services, Musasa aims to raise awareness and provide direct assistance to survivors of gender-based violence. As a reputable organization in the sector, Musasa is committed to creating a safer and equal society.

Musasa is looking for a compassionate and dedicated Field Officer to join our dynamic team in Hwange. As a Field Officer, you will play a crucial role in the implementation of the CERF project, working closely with survivors of gender-based violence and facilitating community dialogue.

This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact and contribute to the fight against gender-based violence in Zimbabwe. Remuneration and benefits will be discussed during the interview process.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support the Program Officer in developing and implementing the CERF project.
  • Engage in day-to-day interaction with survivors of Gender-Based Violence, ensuring proper case follow-up and management.
  • Conduct group and individual dialogue sessions in communities affected by gender-based violence.
  • Coordinate with partners and stakeholders involved in the GBV referral system, disseminating information about available services to surrounding communities.
  • Participate in outreach and demand creation activities to raise awareness about available GBV response services.
  • Attend district meetings and contribute to relevant discussions.
  • Collaborate with other partners in the district, providing support with report writing.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to field activities.
  • Stay up-to-date with new developments, research, and best practices in the field of gender-based violence prevention and support.
  • Uphold the safeguarding policy of Musasa and ensure the personal dignity and rights of beneficiaries are protected.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Diploma in Counselling or a degree in Social Work, or any related social science degree.
  • An additional qualification in Development Studies would be advantageous.
  • Minimum of 1-year experience in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to quickly grasp new topics, issues, and disciplines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with partners and stakeholders.
