ZIPAM is looking for a visionary and dynamic Director General to lead our esteemed organization’s strategic initiatives. As the Director General, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing the overall operations of the Institute.

This pivotal role entails engaging with government ministries, departments, external stakeholders, as well as partners and affiliates. The ideal candidate should possess strong business acumen, drive reforms aligned with the National Vision and Strategies, and demonstrate expertise in managing change.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide overall leadership and management of the Institute, ensuring its smooth functioning and effective delivery of services.
• Develop and implement strategies, policies, and resolutions directed by the Board of Governors.
• Foster institutional collaborations regionally and internationally, establishing and nurturing partnerships and affiliations.
• Act as a liaison between the Institute and government ministries, departments, and relevant external stakeholders.
• Ensure the Institute’s financial sustainability through effective financial oversight and management.
• Cultivate a high-performance work culture that fosters teamwork and motivates staff to achieve organizational goals.
• Uphold best practice management systems in alignment with the Public Enterprises Corporate Governance (PECG) Act.
• Oversee the capacitation and development of managers and personnel in both the public and private sectors, addressing emerging demands.
• Stay abreast of market trends and business development opportunities, contributing to the Institute’s growth and relevance.
• Drive strategic thinking and planning, identifying areas for improvement and innovation in line with the Institute’s mission.

Qualifications and Experience:

• An earned PhD from a recognized institution is mandatory.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience at the Chief Executive Officer or Deputy Chief Executive Officer level, or equivalent.
• Proven ability to drive reforms and manage change aligned with the National Vision and Strategies.
• Demonstrable expertise in business management and administration.
• Strong business acumen and financial literacy, with the ability to oversee the Institute’s financials.
• Track record of establishing and fostering institutional collaborations regionally and internationally.
• Strategic thinking and planning skills, coupled with a keen understanding of market trends in business development.
