Job Description

GALZ (Gays and Lesbians of Zimbabwe), a local organization dedicated to promoting the rights and well-being of the LGBT+ community, is inviting applications for the position of Administration Officer.

GALZ focuses on LGBT+ development issues, civic engagement, empowerment, and livelihoods. As an organization, GALZ is committed to creating an inclusive and supportive environment.

GALZ is looking for a highly motivated Administration Officer with a strong background in Human Resources, Accounting, and Operations Management to join their dynamic team.

The Administration Officer will play a key role in supporting the organization’s administrative functions, ensuring efficient operations and compliance with statutory requirements. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about promoting equality and making a positive impact.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain employee records and process payroll using Pastel SAGE.ERP and Belina payroll software.
  • Handle accounting tasks and ensure financial records are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Manage recruitment, staff development, and employment contracts.
  • Coordinate office operations, procurement, and administrative support.
  • Maintain an assets register and perform assigned asset management duties.
  • Support grant management for civil society organizations.
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements for NGOs.
  • Implement and improve administrative, human resource management, accounting, procurement, and operational systems and procedures.
  • Provide support in organizing meetings, events, and workshops.
  • Assist in any other administrative tasks as required.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/Accounting, Business Administration/Business Management, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in using Pastel SAGE.ERP and Belina payroll software, as well as MS Office applications.
  • Experience with grant management for civil society organizations.
  • Proven experience in meeting all statutory compliance requirements for NGOs.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in operations management, preferably in an NGO environment.
  • Strong knowledge of LGBT+ development issues, civic engagement, empowerment, and livelihoods.
  • Familiarity with administrative, human resource management, accounting, procurement, and operational systems and procedures.
