Southsea Investments (Pvt) Ltd is looking for a proactive and skilled Workshop Technician to join our dynamic team in Harare. As a Workshop Technician, you will play a crucial role in repairing hardware and installing software for various business equipment.

This position requires a versatile individual with balanced ICT skills, providing an opportunity to contribute to our clients’ success through efficient technical support. We offer competitive remuneration and a supportive work environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct repairs of personal computers, Point of Sale machines, laptops, printers, retail scales, and other equipment supplied and supported by the company.
  • Install and configure software on Windows and other Microsoft platforms.
  • Perform installation and maintenance of retail software or other packages provided and supported by the company.
  • Maintain both wired and wireless network implementations.
  • Configure network devices logically.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to job requests, inquiries, and assistance requirements from customers, management, or colleagues.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues to identify and resolve technical problems.
  • Conduct regular maintenance and preventive measures to ensure optimal performance of equipment.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining accurate documentation of repairs, installations, and configurations.
  • Stay updated with the latest technological advancements in the industry and provide recommendations for improvement.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Diploma/Certificate in Information Technology from a recognized university/college.
  • Advanced Diploma/Certificate in Microsoft systems.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in help desk management.
  • Excellent working knowledge of retail software, network installations, and hardware repairs and maintenance.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing hardware and software issues.
  • Sound knowledge of network installations and configurations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
  • Customer-oriented approach with a focus on providing quality service.
