Barloworld Zimbabwe is looking for a highly motivated Warehouse Assistant to join their dynamic team. As a Warehouse Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the business operations and ensuring the efficiency of the warehouse.
This position offers an opportunity to contribute to the success of the company and be part of a leading organization in the mining, construction, marine, and energy sectors.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate records of stocked parts and provide management with an up-to-date inventory report.
- Organize and store parts in their designated areas within the warehouse, ensuring proper unboxing and appropriate storage methods.
- Verify the accuracy of incoming shipments by comparing invoices to orders and inspecting parts for any damage or defects.
- Report any missing or lost inventory to management and assist in investigating the causes.
- Pack items for shipment, following company standards to ensure they are protected and arrive in excellent condition.
- Arrange and sort items on shelving, bins, and overhangs according to company guidelines.
- Accurately update and maintain the company’s database, including stock and warehouse items.
- Retrieve items from the warehouse as required for processing and shipping.
- Develop and maintain good customer relationships through effective communication and assistance.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Diploma in Purchasing and Supply or a related field is preferred.
- Certificate of completion in operating a forklift is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in a similar warehouse assistant role.
- Proficient in typing and record-keeping to maintain accurate inventory information.
- Demonstrated experience working as a warehouse assistant, preferably in a technical or equipment-related industry.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong customer relations skills, with a focus on delivering exceptional service.
