Job Description

A local  restaurant in Harare, Zimbabwe, offering exceptional dining experiences to its customers, is looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Waitress to join their dynamic team.

With a focus on quality service and delectable cuisine, the restaurant has established itself as a popular destination for locals and visitors alike.

As a Waitress, you will play a crucial role in providing excellent customer service and ensuring an enjoyable dining experience for patrons. You will have the opportunity to showcase your hospitality skills and contribute to the restaurant’s success.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Greet customers and escort them to their tables in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Present menus and provide detailed information on food and beverage offerings.
  • Take customer orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring special requests or dietary restrictions are noted.
  • Relay orders to the kitchen staff and ensure timely delivery of food and beverages to tables.
  • Monitor and anticipate the needs of customers, promptly addressing any inquiries or concerns.
  • Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of tables, dining areas, and service stations.
  • Collaborate with other waitstaff and kitchen personnel to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.
  • Process customer payments using the appropriate payment methods.
  • Uphold high standards of hygiene, sanitation, and safety at all times.
  • Assist in setting up and clearing tables before and after service.
  • Continuously strive to enhance the overall dining experience for customers.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Previous experience working as a Waitress in a restaurant or hospitality setting.
  • Possess a tourism and hospitality qualification.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation with a friendly and welcoming demeanor.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and handle challenging situations with professionalism.
  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively.
  • Basic knowledge of food and beverage service procedures.
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations in a restaurant environment.
