Our client is looking for enthusiastic 1st-year students studying towards a Veterinary Science degree to join their dynamic team on weekends. As a Student Veterinary Assistant, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a real-world pet care setting.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide assistance during pet grooming sessions, including bathing, brushing, and nail trimming.
• Ensure the safety and comfort of pets throughout the grooming process.
• Assist in handling pets during grooming procedures, maintaining a gentle and compassionate approach.
• Monitor and report any changes in a pet’s behavior, health, or physical condition to the supervising veterinarian.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the grooming area, including equipment and tools.
• Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and maintaining client records.
• Attend training sessions and educational programs to enhance knowledge of pet care and grooming techniques.
• Collaborate with the team to create a positive and welcoming environment for both pets and their owners.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents or injuries.
• Assist in the maintenance of pet grooming equipment and supplies.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Currently enrolled as a 1st-year student studying towards a Veterinary Science degree.
• Genuine love and passion for animals, particularly dogs.
• No allergies to pet hair or dander.
• Exceptional social interaction skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners.
• Demonstrated emotional intelligence and empathy towards animals.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license.
• Owning a vehicle is an advantage.
• Availability to work on weekends (Saturday and Sunday).
