Eklego Business Solutions is currently seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Stores & Purchasing Controller to join their team. As the Stores & Purchasing Controller, you will be responsible for managing inventory, overseeing purchasing processes, and ensuring efficient stock control.

This role plays a vital part in maintaining the smooth operation of Eklego’s supply chain and ensuring timely delivery of products to customers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective inventory management strategies to optimize stock levels and minimize holding costs.
  • Monitor stock levels, conduct regular stock counts, and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods and negotiate favorable terms and pricing.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions, including receipts, shipments, and returns.
  • Analyze demand patterns and forecast future stock requirements to avoid stockouts or overstock situations.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to ensure alignment between sales forecasts and inventory levels.
  • Implement and enforce inventory control procedures to prevent theft, damage, or loss.
  • Monitor and evaluate supplier performance, addressing any issues or concerns.
  • Review and approve purchase orders, ensuring compliance with company policies and budgets.
  • Conduct regular market research to identify new suppliers, products, and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders, including operations and finance, to streamline purchasing processes and ensure efficient supply chain management.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in stores management, purchasing, or supply chain roles is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory management principles and best practices.
  • Proficiency in using inventory management software and tools.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Knowledge of the Construction, Mining, or Agriculture sectors is an advantage.
