Job Description

ZINARA is a national road administration in Zimbabwe, responsible for the management, maintenance, and development of the country’s road infrastructure.

As a leading organization in the transportation sector, ZINARA plays a crucial role in ensuring safe and efficient road networks for the nation’s economic growth and development.

ZINARA is looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Stores Assistant to join the company’s dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate receipts and dispatches of materials, coordinating stock counts, and maintaining efficient inventory management systems. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to the smooth operations of ZINARA’s stores department.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform quality checks on items upon delivery, ensuring they meet the required standards.
  • Approve requisitions for materials and assets from various departments and agents.
  • Compare received materials and assets with approved samples and specifications.
  • Supervise and coordinate periodic physical inventories.
  • Conduct inventory checks and maintain accurate stock balances.
  • Ensure proper organization and management of warehouses for easy retrieval of inventory.
  • Determine stock reordering levels based on demand and consumption patterns.
  • Initiate procurement requests to replenish stock levels.
  • Prepare schedules and lists of obsolete materials and assets.
  • Reconcile materials purchased, issued, and used by the organization.
  • Generate weekly reports on stock levels and related activities.
  • Compile critical stock issues reports to inform decision-making processes.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 O’ Levels, including English and Mathematics/Accounts.
  • 2 A Level passes or equivalent.
  • Degree in Purchasing and Supply/Supply Chain Management/Logistics/Business Administration or equivalent.
  • Possession or study towards CIPS Level 1 certification.
  • At least 2 years of experience in stores/warehouse management.
