Job Description

As the School Bursar, you will play a crucial role in managing the financial aspects of the school’s operations. This position offers a competitive remuneration package and additional incentives.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulations.
  • Prepare and manage the school’s budget, including monitoring expenses and revenue.
  • Handle financial transactions, such as invoices, payments, and reimbursements.
  • Coordinate and manage the payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely payment to staff.
  • Assist in the procurement process, including sourcing suppliers and negotiating contracts.
  • Monitor and analyze financial data, providing reports and recommendations to management.
  • Collaborate with the school administration to develop financial policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and prepare relevant documentation.
  • Conduct regular audits to identify any financial discrepancies or irregularities.
  • Manage the school’s financial systems and software, ensuring their efficiency and accuracy.
  • Provide financial support and guidance to staff and stakeholders as required.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Higher National Diploma in Accounting or Finance.
  • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within an educational institution.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial management.
  • Proficiency in financial software and systems.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
