Zimbabwe Media Commission is a regulatory body responsible for overseeing and ensuring the proper functioning of media activities in Zimbabwe.

With a focus on promoting independent editorial oversight, sustainable funding for public service media, and delivering value for the public, the commission plays a crucial role in shaping the media landscape. As a key institution in the media sector, Zimbabwe Media Commission contributes to the development and integrity of the media industry in the country.

Zimbabwe Media Commission is looking for a detail-oriented and highly organized Registration Officer – Grade: D3/D4 to join the company’s dynamic team in Harare. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to the effective functioning of Zimbabwe Media Commission and support its mission.

As a Registration Officer, you will be responsible for the efficient management of the Registry section, processing and archiving correspondences, maintaining a comprehensive physical and Digital Registry System, and ensuring the proper creation, storage, retrieval, and disposal of recorded information related to ZMC activities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Registry section to ensure its efficient and smooth operation.
  • Process and archive all incoming and outgoing correspondences promptly and accurately.
  • Maintain a well-organized physical and Digital Registry System for easy retrieval of information.
  • Create and manage records storage, ensuring proper classification, coding, filing, and marking of MC records.
  • Adhere to public service records management regulations and procedures.
  • Ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and security of records and information.
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to facilitate information sharing and retrieval.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of effective record-keeping policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular audits to verify the completeness and accuracy of records.
  • Provide training and support to staff regarding record-keeping practices and systems.
  • Stay updated with industry best practices and emerging trends in records management.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A Degree in Information Science or Higher National Diploma in Records and Information Science or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within a public service or regulatory environment.
  • Knowledge and understanding of public service records management regulations and procedures.
  • Proficiency in computer applications and digital records management systems.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
