Our client, a leading company in the mining sector, is seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join their team. With a strong presence in the industry, our client is committed to excellence in project delivery and cost management.

Our client is looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to support their projects and ensure efficient cost management. Your role will be instrumental in ensuring effective cost control and supporting the successful completion of mining projects.
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for project costings, contractor claims assessment, and utilizing project management software to ensure accurate and timely project delivery.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare and manage project cost estimates, budgets, and schedules.
- Monitor project costs and provide regular reports on cost variances.
- Assess contractor claims and negotiate settlements to ensure fairness and adherence to contract terms.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure accurate cost forecasting and risk assessment.
- Utilize project management software (PRISM, PRIMAVERA, CANDY) to track project costs and progress.
- Conduct quantity take-offs and prepare bills of quantities.
- Analyze tender documents and provide accurate and competitive costings.
- Review and evaluate subcontractor quotations and prepare subcontract agreements.
- Manage contract variations and maintain accurate records of changes.
- Collaborate with project stakeholders to resolve cost-related issues and provide recommendations.
- Ensure compliance with contract requirements and industry regulations.
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and cost management techniques.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A university degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of work experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably in the mining sector.
- Strong knowledge of project cost estimation, cost control, and contract management.
- Proficiency in using project management software such as PRISM, PRIMAVERA, or CANDY.
- Experience in assessing contractor claims and negotiating settlements.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of quantity take-offs and bills of quantities.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in cost calculations.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills.
- Valid driver’s license is a must!
