Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC) is looking for a talented and proactive Public Relations Officer to join their dynamic team. As a Public Relations Officer, you will work closely with the Public Relations Manager to implement the corporation’s PR plan under the Marketing, Sales, and Stakeholder Engagement department.

This role presents an exciting opportunity to contribute to the effective communication and engagement strategies of ZBC. Remuneration, allowances, and other incentives will be provided as per company policy.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop annual stakeholder engagement and PR plans.
  • Design and produce various communication materials, including IEC materials, reports, presentations, articles, press releases, online magazines, and social media posts.
  • Design or project manage the production of visual communications and digital content.
  • Conduct stakeholder mapping, engagement, and relationship building activities.
  • Organize and participate in events such as press conferences, open days, exhibitions, and tours.
  • Provide clients and colleagues with information regarding new promotional opportunities and progress on current PR campaigns.
  • Analyze media coverage to evaluate the effectiveness of PR efforts.
  • Commission or undertake relevant market research and data analysis.
  • Coordinate and analyze the success of online advertising initiatives.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for partnerships, sponsorships, and advertising collaborations.
  • Develop and implement the company’s social responsibility plan.
  • Ensure that the company positively impacts local communities and the environment.
  • Report on social responsibility activities to senior managers.
  • Undertake any other relevant duties as assigned by the manager.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree in Journalism, Media, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of working experience in a similar role.
  • Master’s degree is an added advantage.
  • Possession of a Class 4 Driver’s License is an added advantage.

Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and plan effectively.
  • Proficient in computer skills, including digital media skills such as graphic design, video editing, and blog administration.
  • Experience in social media management.
  • Passion for corporate social responsibility and sustainability.
