As the Public Relations & Communication Officer, you will be responsible for managing the organization’s public image, developing effective communication strategies, and maintaining positive relationships with various stakeholders. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the reputation and success of Cimas Medical Aid.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement public relations strategies to enhance the organization’s reputation.
  • Create and distribute press releases, media kits, and other communication materials.
  • Coordinate and manage media relations, including handling inquiries, arranging interviews, and organizing press conferences.
  • Monitor media coverage and prepare reports on public perception of the organization.
  • Manage social media platforms and online presence, engaging with followers and responding to comments and messages.
  • Plan and execute internal communication initiatives, including newsletters, memos, and staff updates.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to ensure consistent messaging and branding across all communication channels.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including journalists, industry influencers, and community organizations.
  • Organize and coordinate corporate events, sponsorships, and promotional activities.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in public relations, preferably in the healthcare industry.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.
  • Proficiency in social media management and digital marketing.
  • Knowledge of media relations and crisis communication.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
