Our client is looking for a proactive and skilled Procurement Officer to join their dynamic team. As a key member of the purchasing department, you will be responsible for overseeing procurement activities, preparing budgets and plans for purchasing equipment, services, and supplies.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to support the company’s objectives and goals.
  • Oversee the purchasing department and ensure efficient operations, including timely procurement of goods and services.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify procurement needs, specifications, and requirements.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential suppliers, evaluate their capabilities, and negotiate favourable terms and conditions.
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to procurement policies and procedures.
  • Monitor supplier performance, resolve any issues or disputes, and maintain positive relationships with key vendors.
  • Review and analyze procurement contracts and agreements, identifying areas for improvement and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain procurement documentation, including records of purchases, inventory levels, and supplier information.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline procurement processes, optimize inventory management, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, market conditions, and best practices in procurement, and implement relevant improvements within the organization.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • At least 4 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in procurement or supply chain management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Purchase and Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Familiarity with relevant regulations and legal requirements in procurement.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in using procurement software and tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in procurement processes.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
