Lupane State University seeks two highly skilled Principal Accountants to join the finance team. Reporting to the Finance Director, the successful candidate will oversee accounting functions, supervise staff, and ensure accurate financial reporting.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Verify payment vouchers and journals for completeness and accuracy
• Process payroll inputs and ensure compliance with tax regulations
• Oversee bank reconciliations and manage the organization’s cash flows
• Supervise the updating of financial systems and databases
• Check data capture and apply quality control measures to all outputs
• Ensure subordinates comply with accounting standards and deadlines
• Liaise with external auditors and resolve queries efficiently
• Continuously enhance skills and share expertise with the wider team

Qualifications and Experience:

• Masters in Accounting, Finance or equivalent with 2+ years experience
• BCom Honours in Accounting or Finance plus 5 years progressive experience
• Experience with Pastel and/or Paywell accounting packages is preferred
• Expert knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis and reporting
• Strong leadership, organizational and people management abilities
• Precision-oriented approach with extensive attention to detail
