Job Description

A local medical insurance firm, specializing in providing comprehensive healthcare coverage, is seeking an Operations Coordinator to join their dedicated team. The medical insurance firm is looking for a dynamic and experienced Operations Coordinator to oversee the operational aspects of their organization. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth and efficient processes within the company.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage day-to-day operations of the medical insurance firm, ensuring adherence to established policies and procedures.
  • Oversee and optimize claims processing systems, such as the Health Information Management System (HMS), to ensure accurate and efficient claims handling.
  • Monitor and analyze operational performance indicators, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including underwriting, customer service, and finance, to streamline processes and ensure seamless operations.
  • Develop and implement operational policies, guidelines, and standard operating procedures to maintain consistency and compliance.
  • Conduct regular audits and quality assurance checks to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and maintain high service standards.
  • Provide guidance and support to the operational team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
  • Identify training needs and organize relevant training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of staff members.
  • Proactively address operational issues and resolve conflicts, ensuring a positive work environment and smooth workflow.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and best practices, applying relevant knowledge to drive operational excellence and innovation.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A degree in Risk Management and Insurance or an equivalent field.
  • A postgraduate degree is desirable and will be considered an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the Medical Aid industry at a supervisory level.
  • In-depth knowledge of claims processing systems, such as the Health Information Management System (HMS).
  • Strong understanding of risk management principles and insurance operations.
  • Excellent leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities to identify and address operational challenges.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
