Lupane State University seeks a skilled Network Technician to maintain infrastructure supporting the entire campus community. This hands-on role ensures smooth network operations through installation, configuration, and issue resolution.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Plan and install all cabling and electronic network communications equipment infrastructure.
• Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity problems
• Manage user accounts, permissions and system security at the OS level
• Test and deploy approved updates, upgrades or new systems as needed
• Document network configurations, topologies and equipment specifications
• Liaise with vendors for incident response, product support and escalations
• Continuously research and integrate latest tools to optimize operations
• Provide technical guidance to other IT teams as a subject matter expert

Qualifications and Experience:

• First degree in IT, Engineering or relevant field with 2+ years experience
• Higher National Diploma with minimum 4 years hands-on network support
• CompTIA or CCNA industry certification is a plus
• Expert knowledge of Windows Server, Linux, networking protocols and WiFi
• Excellent troubleshooting and customer service abilities
• Attention to detail and capability to multi-task in a busy work environment
