Job Description

An organization based in Bulawayo that is involved in the production of mushrooms is seeking an experienced Mushroom Project Manager to join their team.

The organisation is committed to providing high-quality mushrooms to their customers while maintaining sustainable and environmentally friendly practices and a Mushroom Project Manager is required to make their dreams come true.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the mushroom farm, including composting and growing. The Mushroom Project Manager will ensure that there are enough workers on the farm and will be responsible for the farm’s overall productivity and profitability.

The ideal candidate should be able to work under minimal supervision, have at least 5 years of experience, and be able to work flexible hours. A farming diploma/degree would be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations of the mushroom farm, including composting and growing.
  • Plan and manage production schedules to ensure timely delivery of products to customers.
  • Ensure that the farm is well-maintained and adheres to sustainable and environmentally friendly practices.
  • Manage inventory levels, including ordering supplies and materials as needed.
  • Supervise and train farm workers to ensure that they are working safely and efficiently.
  • Monitor and report on the farm’s productivity and profitability.
  • Maintain accurate records of production, inventory, and sales.
  • Participate in training and development programs to improve skills and knowledge.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • At least 5 years of experience in managing a mushroom farm or similar agricultural operation.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision and be self-motivated.
  • Ability to work flexible hours.
  • A farming diploma/degree would be an added advantage.
