Job Description
Zimbabwe Power Company (ZPC), an investment vehicle and subsidiary of ZESA Holdings, is inviting suitably qualified and motivated candidates for the following position that has arisen with the power-generating company’s Head Office in Harare.
Messenger – ZPC Head Office (Fixed Term) Ref ZPCHO 11/04/23
We are searching for a conscientious, efficient messenger to join our team. The messenger’s responsibilities include gathering parcels and then transporting these to specified people or locations. You should also ensure that all relevant documentation is fully completed after each delivery.
To ensure success as a messenger, you should brainstorm and select the most appropriate routes based on your workload. Ultimately, an exceptional messenger will render friendly and efficient services that surpass our clients’ expectations.
Messenger Responsibilities:
- Clarifying your scheduled and anticipated deliveries before each shift begins.
- Fetching, checking, and signing for parcels at their respective collection points.
- Take special care to load the parcels into your bag or vehicle in a safe manner.
- Devising and choosing the most effective routes.
- Transporting items to drop-off points.
- Answering recipients’ questions about the delivery process.
- Ensuring that both yourself and the recipient sign all relevant documentation upon delivery.
- Checking to see that you have completed all work allocated for the day.
- Advise your line manager of deliveries that could not be fulfilled.
- Remaining friendly and helpful as you conduct your duties.
Qualifications and Experience
- Certificate in Customer Care or equivalent.
- At least 5 O-Level subjects including Maths and English.
- 2 years of experience as a messenger.
- Good communication skills
- Smart and presentable
