Lancet Laboratories Zimbabwe is looking for highly skilled and motivated Medical Laboratory Technicians to join their dynamic teams in Kadoma and Zvishavane. As a Medical Laboratory Technician, you will play a vital role in performing diagnostic testing procedures, analyzing results, and collaborating with pathologists to provide accurate and timely data for disease prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform diagnostic testing procedures on advanced laboratory instrumentation.
  • Analyze test results in one or more sections of the laboratory.
  • Collaborate with pathologists on technical matters to ensure the provision of relevant data for disease prevention, diagnosis, or treatment.
  • Record and verify test results to maintain the integrity of the laboratory information system’s database.
  • Report test results promptly to healthcare professionals via phone or computer entry.
  • Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to relevant legislation, safety protocols, and infection control measures.
  • Dispose of bio-hazardous waste correctly and maintain quality control standards.
  • Assist in the preparation process for internal and external quality control audits.
  • Report and investigate incidents and instrument failures according to organizational policies.
  • Resolve customer complaints to promote a positive image of Lancet Laboratories and its services.
  • Collect blood and non-blood specimens from patients and clients using sterile equipment.
  • Adhere to professional conduct requirements in line with organizational policy and ethical standards.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Relevant qualification in Medical Laboratory Technology.
  • Registration with the Medical Laboratory and Clinical Scientist Council and possession of a valid practising certificate.
  • Ability to handle work-related pressure in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
  • Minimum of two years of working experience in a similar role.
