Stanbic Bank is looking for a dynamic Manager, Compliance Monitoring to join its team. As the Manager, Compliance Monitoring, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that the bank and all its legal entities conduct business in accordance with relevant regulations, codes of conduct, and best business practices.

You will be responsible for completing high-quality reviews, contributing to the implementation of the Group Compliance Monitoring methodology, and driving the development and implementation of a combined assurance approach across all Compliance Assurance Functions. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute high-quality reviews in line with the Group Compliance Monitoring methodology.
  • Contribute to the implementation of compliance monitoring processes across the bank.
  • Ensure business operations comply with relevant regulations and codes of conduct.
  • Drive the development and implementation of a combined assurance approach for Compliance Assurance Functions.
  • Collaborate with business unit heads to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Provide insightful reports on compliance monitoring findings and recommendations.
  • Monitor changes in regulatory requirements and assess their impact on the bank’s operations.
  • Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and provide guidance on compliance matters.
  • Conduct training and awareness programs on compliance best practices.
  • Continuously improve compliance monitoring processes and methodologies.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • First Degree in Business Commerce or Law.
  • 3-4 years of experience in compliance monitoring, auditing, or risk management within a financial services organization or one of the big four auditing firms.
  • Experience in leading a team of Risk and Compliance specialists.
  • Familiarity with compliance risk management principles.
  • Knowledge of the financial industry regulatory framework and legal compliance.
  • Strong skills in promoting good governance, risk control, and strategic planning.
  • Excellent attention to detail, decision-making, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Positive attitude and commitment to upholding standards.
