As the Logistics Supervisor-Milk Supply, you will be responsible for coordinating and supervising the day-to-day activities of milk tanker drivers and support staff. Your role will involve optimizing routes, ensuring compliance with safety and hygiene regulations, and maintaining efficient fleet performance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and supervise the day-to-day activities of milk tanker drivers and support staff.
  • Schedule and assign routes to maximize efficiency and meet delivery timelines.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and cleanliness of milk tankers to comply with hygiene and safety regulations.
  • Monitor fuel consumption, mileage, and vehicle performance to optimize fleet efficiency.
  • Implement measures to minimize downtime and promptly address any mechanical issues.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards pertaining to transportation and milk handling.
  • Maintain accurate records of driver logs, vehicle inspections, and maintenance activities.
  • Conduct regular safety training sessions for drivers to promote safe driving practices and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Investigate and report any accidents, incidents, or violations, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Generate regular reports on fleet performance, efficiency, and cost analysis.
  • Collaborate with farmers, processing facilities, and suppliers to ensure smooth and timely operations.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • 4 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Clean Class 4 Driver’s Licence.
  • Clean Class 2 Driver’s Licence will be an added advantage.
  • Degree/Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in fleet management or logistics supervision, preferably in the transportation of perishable goods.
  • Strong knowledge of transportation regulations, safety standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Proficient in using logistics software, tracking systems, and other relevant tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
