Job Description

The Halo Trust is the world’s largest Mine Action organization, dedicated to clearing landmines and explosive remnants of war to ensure the safety and well-being of communities affected by conflict.

The Halo Trust is looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Logistics Coordinator to join their dynamic team based in Harare, Zimbabwe. As a Logistics Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the procurement and logistics operations of the Halo Zimbabwe program.

Your responsibilities will include coordinating procurement activities, managing suppliers, and ensuring compliance with established processes. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Act as the focal point for all in-country procurement inquiries, ensuring timely and efficient responses.
  • Document all procurement activities and ensure compliance with the Halo Trust’s Global Operating Systems.
  • Collaborate with local and international suppliers to obtain quotes, raise purchase orders, and follow up on after-sales requirements.
  • Regularly monitor the market in Harare to identify cost-effective and high-quality goods for procurement.
  • Identify and establish preferred supplier arrangements to enhance the procurement process.
  • Attend monthly meetings to provide updates on procurement progress and monitor committed costs.
  • Develop an annual procurement plan and track the program’s performance against set targets.
  • Support the fleet department by implementing a managed system for vehicle parts procurement and logging.
  • Conduct regular reviews of vehicle procurement to optimize efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Serve as a point of contact for logistics-related inquiries and provide guidance to field-based logisticians.
  • Maintain a high standard of work, collaborate effectively with team members, and adhere to safety protocols.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics or demonstrated experience in procurement and compliance.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 products, with an emphasis on Excel.
