Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Legal and Corporate Services Manager to join the Legal & Corporate Services Department.

Reporting to the Director Corporate Services (Company Secretary), the incumbent will provide expert legal advice and ensure compliance with relevant legislation. This role requires a deep understanding of the Parks and Wildlife Management Act Chapter 20:14 and the ability to oversee various legal and corporate functions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive research and offer legal counsel to the Authority on all transactions.
• Ensure accurate interpretation and application of legislation pertaining to the Parks and Wildlife Management Act.
• Represent the Authority in court litigation, effectively advocating for its interests.
• Monitor criminal matters and ensure adherence to the Parks and Wildlife Act during investigations, arrests, and prosecutions.
• Draft and interpret agreements, such as leases, MOUs, and Joint Ventures, on behalf of the Authority.
• Provide training on the Parks and Wildlife Act and its subsidiary legislation to the Authority’s employees and stakeholders.
• Recommend legislative reviews to ensure their continued relevance and effectiveness.
• Collaborate with external lawyers on assigned cases and oversee their management.
• Manage debt collection activities within the Authority.
• Foster an enabling performance environment and effectively lead the Legal and Corporate Services Department.
• Motivate, train, and develop staff within the department to enhance their professional growth.
• Formulate the budget for the Legal and Corporate Services department and allocate resources accordingly.

Qualifications and Experience:

• LLB Honours Degree or an equivalent qualification.
• An additional LLM/MBA, Masters in Environmental Law, or a relevant Commercial Masters’ degree is advantageous.
• In-depth knowledge of the Parks and Wildlife Act Chapter 20:14 and related conservation laws.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar managerial role.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license.
• Membership in the Law Society of Zimbabwe.
