Job Description

Our client in the Mining Security Industry is searching for a diligent, highly experienced and mature IT Manager to be responsible for the firm’s network infrastructure, database and information technology systems, ensuring optimal performance, security, backup, recovery and integrity of the network and data.

The ideal candidate MUST hold a Bachelor’s degree in information technology or 5-8 years of experience in the field or in a related area, be certified in Microsoft Server and workstation technology (MCSE minimum), hold a cyber security certification, Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 certification and strong experience using Microsoft Windows Server 2016 and Windows 10 Professional, Microsoft Office Suites (Office 2013 to Microsoft 365), Microsoft Remote Desktop services, Microsoft InTune policy management, Microsoft Group Policy Management, Microsoft SQL (2014 to 2022).

The IT Manager’s responsibilities include supervising staff while they complete repairs and installations, providing training to new recruits, scrutinizing existing processes, writing reports, developing work schedules, and delegating tasks. You should also be able to develop optimization strategies and provide excellent customer service.

This role involves travel to project locations and hence a valid passport is required.

Duties and Responsibilities

Managing IT staff by recruiting and training employees, communicating job expectations, and monitoring performance.
Overseeing the annual IT budget and ensuring cost-effectiveness.
Monitoring daily operations, including server hardware, software, and operating systems.
Coordinating technology installations, upgrades, and maintenance.
Selecting and purchasing new and replacement hardware and software, when necessary.
Testing, troubleshooting, and modifying information systems so that they operate effectively.
Generating performance reports for operating systems.
Assuring all IT activities are performed within the parameters of applicable laws, codes, and regulations.
Evaluating technology risks in order to develop a network disaster recovery plan and backup procedures.
Remaining up to date with advances in technology and industry best practices.

Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in information technology OR 5 to 8 years of experience in the field or in a related area
Be certified in Microsoft Server and workstation technology (MCSE minimum),
Hold a cyber security certification, Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 certification and strong experience using Microsoft Windows Server 2016 and Windows 10 Professional, Microsoft Office Suites (Office 2013 to Microsoft 365), Microsoft Remote Desktop services, Microsoft InTune policy management, Microsoft Group Policy Management, Microsoft SQL (2014 to 2022),
Hardware SAN and iSCSI experience, Veeam Backup technology, PowerShell and JSON development scripting, IPv4 and IPv6 network technology experience, and IPSec IKE2 tunnel technologies.
