Job Description

The Halo Trust has been a leader in humanitarian mine action for over 30 years. As a Nobel Peace Prize nominated organisation, we clear landmines and undetonated munitions to help communities achieve long-term safety, security and development in over 20 countries worldwide.

The Halo Trust seeks an experienced Information Management Officer to lead our expanding Information Management department. This role will design internal systems, manage operational data, produce impact reports and provide support to field teams.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design and maintain scalable IM systems for accurate data collection and storage
  • Oversee the IM department including mentoring staff
  • Manage data in the GO-IMS and ensure accurate submissions to IMSMA
  • Develop database tools using PostgreSQL views and queries
  • Design training and support use of collection tools like Survey123 and Fulcrum
  • Produce maps, visuals and analysis to monitor impact
  • Ensure team submits timely, compliant reports to meet obligations
  • Implement suitable monitoring and evaluation tools
  • Maintain programme databases and datasets as required
  • Provide ICT support to field teams as needed
  • Quality control operational data from clearance activities
  • Liaise with national authorities on data sharing and reporting
  • Continuously research and apply emerging IM technologies
  • Develop standard operating procedures for IM processes
  • Support special projects and administration duties as assigned

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s in Computer Science, IS, GIS or related field
  • 2+ years of database and IM experience
  • Expertise with PostgreSQL, ArcGIS Pro, and mobile data collection tools
  • Knowledge and experience in GIS software, particularly ArcGIS Pro and ArcMap.
  • Experience using mobile data collection tools such as Survey123, Fulcrum, Kobo.
  • Advanced SQL and data management skills
  • Experience managing large, complex datasets
  • Analytical and detail-oriented work methods
  • Ability to prioritize, solve problems and work well in teams
