SOS Children’s Villages International is a nonprofit organization dedicated to caring for orphaned and vulnerable children globally. In Zimbabwe for over 30 years, SOS provides family-based care, education and social support.

SOS Children’s Villages Zimbabwe is seeking two skilled ICT Teachers to join their team. The successful candidates will be responsible for delivering Computer Science instruction that develops students’ technical skills and confidence in line with curriculum objectives.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging ICT lessons that facilitate learning computer applications
• Instruct students in a supportive manner suited to their abilities and needs
• Monitor class participation, and behavior and ensure all students’ progress
• Grade assignments, projects, tests and participate in marking examinations
• Keep updated student performance records and identify needs for additional support
• Develop lesson plans, curricula and course materials for ICT subjects
• Maintain equipment and organize the computer lab/classroom for effective learning
• Assist students with special projects, extracurricular competitions and workshops
• Communicate regularly with parents/caregivers on student performance and development
• Collaborate with fellow teachers to identify ways to incorporate ICT across subjects

Requirements:

• 5 O’ Level passes including English and Maths
• Degree/Diploma in Computer Science, ICT or related field
• Bachelor’s degree preferred with specialization in programming or web development
• Prior experience teaching computing at secondary level
• Passion for empowering students through technology education
• Analytical thinking skills and ability to simplify complex concepts
• Team player with excellent communication and planning abilities
• Flexibility to take on other duties as required by the school
