Job Description

Small And Medium Enterprises Development Corporation (SMEDCO) is a development finance institution that was formed in 1983 through an Act of Parliament.

It primarily exists to promote the development of micro, small, and medium enterprises, and cooperatives in Zimbabwe through lending and capacity building.

SMEDCO is looking for a skilled and dedicated Human Resources Officer to join our dynamic team. As a Human Resources Officer, you will be responsible for administering remuneration and HR policies, resolving industrial relations issues, managing payroll, and supporting succession and retention strategies.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Administer remuneration and HR policies to ensure fair and consistent practices within the organization.
  • Advise and resolve any industrial relations problems to maintain a harmonious working environment.
  • Manage payroll and maintain accurate employee records.
  • Support the development and implementation of succession and retention strategies for critical positions.
  • Create and maintain source documents for employee records for reference purposes.
  • Assist in the recruitment and selection process to ensure the organization hires highly capable individuals.
  • Identify and compile training and development programs, ensuring their successful implementation.
  • Facilitate the induction program for new employees to ensure a smooth transition into the company.
  • Liaise with external stakeholders to build positive relationships and explore collaboration opportunities.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree in Human Resources Management or equivalent from a recognized University.
  • Membership in the Institute of People Management of Zimbabwe (IPMZ).
  • Knowledge of performance management tools such as the Integrated Result Based Management System (IRBM).
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant work experience.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Exceptional analytical skills in data interpretation and decision-making.
  • Proficiency in using Belina software for HR functions.
  • Possession of a clean Class 4 driver’s license.
