Veer Freight Private Limited is looking for a highly motivated and skilled Human Resources Assistant to join the company’s dynamic team in Harare. This is an excellent opportunity for a talented individual to contribute to the growth and success of our client’s organization.

As a Human Resources Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the effective administration of employee life cycle processes, recruitment, employee relations, and payroll administration.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating the recruitment of new staff, including managing job postings, screening resumes, and scheduling interviews.
  • Assisting in securing pre-employment documents such as interview notes and reference checks.
  • Facilitating exit interviews for employees leaving the company and ensuring smooth offboarding processes.
  • Conducting employee inductions within the first month of joining the company.
  • Preparing contracts and recruitment documents, and maintaining employee individual files.
  • Organizing and inviting candidates for interviews, ensuring a seamless interview process.
  • Terminating employees from the payroll system accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Assisting in addressing labour relations issues and maintaining positive employee relations.
  • Keeping accurate records of contract expiry dates and monitoring contract renewals or terminations.
  • Maintaining up-to-date employee records, both manual and electronic.
  • Ensuring all employees on leave have completed relevant forms and producing accurate leave reports.
  • Managing and updating notice boards in compliance with NEC regulations.
  • Ensuring dissemination of relevant notices and updates to all staff members.
  • Creating and maintaining employee master files in the payroll system.
  • Accurately capturing employee salary, wage, and deduction information in the payroll system.
  • Ensuring timely and accurate payment of employees.
  • Processing monthly payroll and generating payroll reports for management review.
  • Addressing employee inquiries related to payroll, leave balance, and other compensation matters.
  • Resolving payroll discrepancies promptly and maintaining employee payroll record confidentiality.
  • Staying updated on company policies and tax legislation affecting remuneration.
  • Reporting any payroll system errors or malfunctions promptly.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree in Human Resources Management or Social Sciences, or relevant Diploma/HND in Human Resources Management or IPMZ Diploma.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Proficient in payroll administration and familiar with relevant tax legislation.
  • Good knowledge of recruitment and selection processes.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
