Job Description

OPHID (Organization for Public Health Interventions and Development) is a leading healthcare organization dedicated to improving public health interventions and development in Zimbabwe. OPHID is looking for a highly motivated HIV Services Quality Officer (HSQO) to join their dynamic team. As the HSQO, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining the minimum HIV services package at high-volume facilities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with healthcare departments to implement the minimum HIV services package effectively.
  • Engage and work closely with nurses in charge of departments to ensure competency in all areas of HIV prevention, care, treatment, and support.
  • Provide exemplary direct service delivery at the facility level, including conducting cervical cancer screening and treatment, TB treatment, and first-line to second-line ART switches.
  • Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) in client flow, pre-identification, service delivery, data generation, and health information reporting for HIV services.
  • Implement best practices to optimize client care, support, and overall service quality within health facilities.
  • Facilitate training and capacity building initiatives for healthcare staff on HIV and TB management.
  • Collaborate with the facility manager and District Program Coordinator to monitor and evaluate program performance.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in HIV and TB management and disseminate relevant information to the healthcare team.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and reports related to HIV services.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Diploma/Degree in Nursing and registered as a Registered General Nurse with the Nurses Council of Zimbabwe.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in clinical management of HIV and TB/HIV at public health facility level.
  • Completed course in Advanced HIV and AIDS Management preferred.
  • Previous experience in a leadership role within the MOHCC or the NGO technical assistance environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), and online collaboration technologies.
