Mutapa Investment Fund is looking for a talented and experienced Head of Corporate Affairs and Communication to join their dynamic team. This role offers a competitive remuneration package and the chance to work in a challenging and rewarding environment.

As the Head of Corporate Affairs and Communication, you will be responsible for overseeing the fund’s communication strategies, managing the brand image, engaging stakeholders, coordinating media relations, and ensuring corporate compliance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining the intranet as a central repository of information and ensuring basic internal training programs are in place.
  • Providing legal advice to the Managing Board and Country Directors on corporate legal issues, including registration and tax matters.
  • Assisting executive leadership in developing presentations, speeches, and other important corporate messages.
  • Overseeing the fund’s brand image, positioning, and developing brand guidelines and standards.
  • Monitoring brand representation across all channels.
  • Identifying key stakeholders, understanding their interests, and developing strategies for effective engagement.
  • Providing suggestions for graphics, clarity, distribution, and press releases to the Finance and Accounting departments for the preparation of the corporation’s annual report.
  • Establishing relationships with media outlets and journalists, coordinating media interviews, and organizing press conferences.
  • Maintaining policy coherence and ensuring ownership and accountability of individual policies lie with the relevant global heads.
  • Strategizing and implementing corporate social responsibility initiatives, monitoring their impact, and ensuring alignment with the fund’s values and objectives.
  • Developing internal communication strategies, communicating organizational updates to staff, and facilitating internal communication channels.
  • Ensuring timely execution of corporate compliance processes and externally demanded organizational assessments.
  • Coordinating the fund’s response during crises, monitoring crisis situations, adjusting strategies as needed, and providing staff training on crisis communication procedures.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • First Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Professional qualifications, such as membership in a recognized professional body like the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) or similar.
  • Proven track record with over 7 years of experience in Corporate Affairs leadership positions, including at least 7 years of managing professional teams in a culturally diverse, international setting.
  • Solid management experience in external and internal communications.
  • Solid experience in complex governance and planning processes.
  • Knowledge of corporate compliance, internal control, and audit processes.
