Established in 1949, SOS Children’s Villages International is a global organization dedicated to protecting orphaned and vulnerable children. In Zimbabwe for over 30 years, SOS assists children through family-based care, education and social support programming.

SOS Children’s Villages Zimbabwe is looking for a skilled Groundsman to join their dedicated facilities team. The Groundsman will be responsible for maintaining the school’s attractive landscaped gardens and outdoor spaces through regular groundskeeping and maintenance activities.

Responsibilities:

• Keep the school grounds and surrounding areas clean through regular collection of litter
• Dig, fertilize, weed and care for grass areas, gardens, lawns and landscaping
• Water trees, flowers, shrubs and plants on a scheduled basis
• Mow, edge and maintain the appearance of lawns and vegetation
• Prune hedges, trees and plants according to horticultural standards
• Apply soil treatments and pest control methods when needed
• Plant new trees, flowers and greenery as requested
• Assist with special landscaping projects under guidance

Requirements:

• 5 Ordinary level educational passes including English
• Minimum 1-2 years of groundskeeping experience in a similar environment
• Physical ability to perform garden/landscaping maintenance tasks
• Team player with good communication and people skills
• Ability to work independently under minimum supervision
