African Sun Limited is looking for a dynamic and highly motivated General Manager to join the company’s dynamic team. As the General Manager, you will be based in the resort town of Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Victoria Falls Hotel.
Your role will entail optimizing hotel operations, maintaining service and brand standards, achieving short and long-term goals, and driving business growth in a highly competitive market. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead a luxury 5-star hotel and contribute to its success.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the hotel, ensuring smooth and efficient functioning.
- Enhance and maintain high service and brand standards.
- Set and achieve short and long-term goals for the hotel’s growth and profitability.
- Develop and implement strategies to attract and retain guests in a competitive market.
- Oversee various departments such as Front Office, Guest Relations, and Food & Beverage.
- Foster a customer-centric mindset among staff and deliver exceptional guest experiences.
- Provide strong leadership, guidance, and support to the hotel team.
- Address operational challenges and implement effective solutions.
- Maintain effective communication channels with the hotel staff and stakeholders.
- Monitor financial performance, control costs, and optimize revenue generation.
Qualifications and Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience as a General Manager in luxury 5-star hotels.
- Previous regional and international experience in the hospitality industry is preferred.
- A recognized professional qualification in hospitality management or a related field.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong background in Front Office, Guest Relations, and/or Food & Beverage.
- Customer-centric mindset and the ability to deliver exceptional guest service and experiences.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proactive, adaptable, and energetic approach to hotel management.
