Action for Youth Foundation Trust is a local non-profit organization dedicated to empowering and supporting youth in Zimbabwe.

Since its establishment, the organization has been actively involved in providing opportunities and resources to help young individuals thrive and succeed in various aspects of their lives.

Action for Youth Foundation Trust is looking for a motivated and skilled Finance Officer (Volunteer) to join the organization’s dynamic team. As a Finance Officer, you will play a crucial role in managing financial operations and providing administrative support under the direct supervision of the Director of Operations.

This volunteer position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the organization’s mission of empowering youth and making a positive impact in the community.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct cash request verifications and ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
  • Provide guidance and support in implementing finance programs to enhance financial management within the organization.
  • Prepare accurate profit and loss accounts to facilitate financial analysis and decision-making.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of all cash transfers, ensuring transparency and accountability.
  • Assist with procurement duties, including sourcing quotations and maintaining vendor relationships.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of internal controls and financial policies.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Support the Director of Operations in monitoring and managing project budgets.
  • Handle any other duties assigned by the supervisor related to finance and administration.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A degree in Finance, Banking, or Economics is required.
  • Currently working or available to commit as a volunteer.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in the finance sector.
  • Strong knowledge of financial management principles, practices, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in financial software and MS Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
