Job Description

A local faith-based non-governmental organization involved in development, advocacy, and humanitarian work seeks a dedicated Field logistics driver to support their mission.

With a strong commitment to making a positive impact, the organization actively contributes to various projects aimed at improving lives and communities in Zimbabwe.

As a Field logistics driver, you will play a crucial role in providing transportation support for staff and project materials. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to meaningful initiatives and work alongside a passionate team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Safely and efficiently drive project staff to field operations and meetings.
  • Ensure the timely delivery of project materials to designated locations.
  • Perform daily inspections of the vehicle, checking for any mechanical issues or defects.
  • Report the vehicle’s mechanical state and defects to the appropriate personnel.
  • Coordinate and book field program vehicles in advance for servicing and maintenance.
  • Provide logistical support to the project, ensuring smooth operations.
  • Carry out any other duties assigned by the Supervisor to support project activities.
  • Adhere to road safety regulations and maintain a high level of professionalism while driving.
  • Maintain accurate records of trips, mileage, and fuel consumption.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and proper maintenance of the assigned vehicle.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Possess a minimum of 5 O levels, including English.
  • Hold a valid and clean driver’s license.
  • Demonstrate at least 2 years of driving experience for humanitarian and development organizations.
  • Possess a valid Defensive Driving Certificate.
  • Exhibit excellent knowledge of road safety regulations and defensive driving techniques.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and interact with project staff.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism.
