Job Description

A locally based Christian Children’s Home, situated approximately 25km from the Bulawayo Business District, is seeking a Director to lead their organization. The Children’s Home is dedicated to providing care and support to vulnerable children in the community.

With a strong focus on Christian values and community partnerships, the Children’s Home aims to create a nurturing environment that positively impacts the lives of children in need.

The Children’s Home is looking for an experienced and dedicated Director to join their dynamic team. As the Director, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing the operations of the Children’s Home.

Your leadership and strategic vision will contribute to the organization’s mission of providing comprehensive care and support to vulnerable children. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of those in need.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining strong working relationships with international partners and actively communicating with staff liaison, providing ministry reports when requested.
  • Establishing relationships with local community organizations and churches to inform them of the Children’s Home’s referral program and other services available in partnership with area churches.
  • Proactively seeking speaking opportunities in which all ministry programs of the Children’s Home and Orphan Care are shared.
  • Participating in education opportunities and training through professional seminars, workshops, and conferences.
  • Listening, discerning, and developing strategic, individualized orphan care ministry plans based on the desires and needs of the church.
  • Accurately researching and communicating the needs of children and families.
  • Delegating and sharing responsibilities with other personnel as the situation requires.
  • Keeping records of all contacts and activities.
  • Performing duties as assigned.
  • Overseeing the business units within the Children’s Home.
  • Applying solid knowledge of the church culture.
  • Utilizing knowledge of or experience in child social services as a plus.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University.
  • Public relations, business management, or related field will be an added advantage.
  • Aged 40 years and above.
  • Comprehensive Curriculum Vitae.
  • Valid Police clearance.
  • Physically fit.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Self-motivated and target-driven.
  • Integrity and honesty.
  • Motivational letter.
