Binga Rural District Council is a quasi-government entity responsible for overseeing and managing rural development in Binga District, Zimbabwe.
The council plays a vital role in planning and implementing strategies to promote sustainable growth, infrastructure development, and land use management within the district. Binga Rural District Council is looking for a highly skilled Debtors Clerk (Grade: 6) to join the company’s dynamic team. This position offers competitive remuneration, including allowances and benefits.
As a Debtors Clerk, you will report to the Accountant and be responsible for processing invoices, managing debtors’ accounts balances, reconciling accounts receivables, negotiating payment plans with debtors, issuing debtors’ statements and reminders, managing debtors’ ledgers, initiating legal proceedings for recovery of outstanding debts, responding to client queries, and performing other related delegated duties.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Process invoices accurately and efficiently.
- Manage and maintain debtors’ accounts balances, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Reconcile accounts receivables, investigating and resolving any discrepancies.
- Negotiate payment plans with debtors to facilitate timely and full debt recovery.
- Issue debtors’ statements and reminders to ensure prompt payment.
- Efficiently manage and update debtors’ ledgers, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
- Initiate legal proceedings for the recovery of outstanding debts, following established procedures and regulations.
- Respond to client queries regarding invoices, accounts, and payment terms, providing excellent customer service.
- Perform any other delegated duties related to debtors’ management as assigned by the Accountant.
- Maintain good communication channels and collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Holder of a Higher National Diploma in Business Law/Financial Law/Banking and Finance or a relevant qualification.
- An additional relevant degree qualification is an added advantage.
- Minimum age of 25 years.
- At least 1 year of experience in a similar role.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Possession of at least Class Three driver’s license.
- No criminal records.
