BUSE is looking for two skilled and experienced Cooks to join its dynamic catering team in Bindura. As a Cook at BUSE, you will play a vital role in preparing and presenting high-quality food, ensuring efficient operations in line with catering services.
- Prepare and cook a variety of meals, ensuring the efficient and timely delivery of high-quality food.
- Skillfully handle and utilize ingredients to create delicious and visually appealing dishes.
- Follow standard recipes and portion sizes to maintain consistency in food quality.
- Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards, ensuring a clean and organized work area.
- Collaborate with the Catering Supervisor to plan menus and coordinate meal preparation schedules.
- Monitor and manage food inventory, ensuring adequate supplies are available for meal preparation.
- Maintain kitchen equipment and utensils, ensuring they are clean and in good working condition.
- Assist in training and supervising kitchen staff, ensuring they adhere to food preparation guidelines.
- Stay updated on industry trends and techniques to enhance culinary skills and creativity.
- Provide excellent customer service, addressing any special dietary requirements or preferences.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum of five (5) Ordinary Levels, including English Language.
- Certificate in Hotel and Catering Studies/Certificate in Hotel and Catering Management/Certificate in Food Preparation and Cooking/Certificate in Bakery Studies/Certificate in Professional Cookery/Certificate in Institutional Catering/Certificate in Hospitality Management/Executive Certificate in Hospitality Operations Management.
- A diploma in any of the above would be an added advantage.
- Minimum of three (3) years of relevant post-qualification working experience in an educational institution, hotel, restaurant, or similar setting.
