Job Description
The Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority (ZimParks) is a government agency responsible for the management of national parks, game reserves, and other protected areas in Zimbabwe.
As part of our efforts to provide high-quality services to visitors, we are seeking a skilled and experienced Cook to be based at the Entertainment Centre in Kariba and report to the Tourism Manager.
The Cook will be responsible for preparing and cooking meals for visitors at the Entertainment Centre in Kariba. The Cook will work closely with other staff to ensure that meals are prepared and presented to the highest standards.
The ideal candidate should have strong culinary skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing and cooking food as per orders,
- Taking inventory of supplies and equipment
- Setting up, cleaning, and organizing workstations
- Preparing cooking ingredients
- Storing all food properly
- Cleaning workstations and utensils
- Checking food stocks in the freezer and storeroom
- Reconciling of Stocks once week
- Maintaining hygiene and cleanliness of the canteen.
Qualifications and Experience
- At least a Certificate in Cookery or Culinary or relevant qualification
- Knowledge of Parks Estate environment and basic knowledge and understanding of the
behavior of wild animals - Strong interpersonal skills, professional, mature, openness and collaborative skills,
- Â Should be physically fit
