Job Description
Zimasco (Pvt) Limited is a leading ferrochrome producer in Zimbabwe, committed to providing high-quality products to our customers.
We are seeking a highly skilled Clerk of Works to join our team and oversee the construction and maintenance of our facilities.
The Clerk of Works will be responsible for overseeing the construction and maintenance of our facilities, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations, and coordinating with contractors and vendors.
The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and efficient construction and maintenance operations. This is a 1-year fixed-term employment contract, renewable and subject to performance.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Overseeing the construction and maintenance of our facilities, including new construction and renovation projects
- Planning, organising, directing, monitoring and controlling Capital projects.
- Ensuring that work is completed within budget, set timeframes and in line with Zimasco’s safety and quality standards
- Checking and ensuring that building regulations, health and safety, legal and environmental requirements are met.
- Carrying out inspections, identifying defects and drawing out BOQs and scopes of work for projects or repair works on building and infrastructure.
- Ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations
- Coordinating with contractors and vendors to ensure timely and efficient construction and maintenance operations
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation of construction and maintenance activities
- Developing and implementing safety and environmental policies and procedures
- Providing regular reports to management on construction and maintenance operations
- Assisting with other tasks and projects as needed
Qualifications and Experience:
- Apprentice-trained artisan in Electrical/Mechanical/Civil Engineering and preferably a holder of a diploma and a class 1 registered Artisan
- At least 7 years of experience in a Mining environment of which 2 should have been at a supervisory level.
- Working knowledge of SAP and Project Management systems would be an added advantage
- Ability to interpret Engineering drawings is a MUST.
- Knowledge of the NOSA SHE System is an added advantage
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
