Job Description

Our client, Mutapa Investment Fund, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Finance Officer to join their dynamic team. As a leading investment fund, Mutapa  Investment Fund, formulated by the Sovereign Wealth Fund Act, focuses on driving growth and long-term sustainability in various sectors.

The Chief Finance Officer will play a critical role in developing and implementing financial strategies aligned with the Fund’s objectives, while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented individual to contribute to the organization’s success.

The Chief Finance Officer will play a crucial role in optimizing the Fund’s financial structure, providing strategic insights, and fostering strong relationships with stakeholders. Remuneration and additional incentives will be commensurate with experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the Fund’s overall objectives to drive growth, profitability, and long-term sustainability.
  • Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis processes to provide insights for decision-making and performance evaluation.
  • Formulate and implement funding strategies and pricing models in line with set strategic goals.
  • Analyze financial data, performance metrics, and economic trends to guide decision-making and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Manage capital allocation, investment strategies, and capital raising activities to optimize the Fund’s financial structure and support business growth.
  • Oversee financial reporting, ensuring accuracy, completeness, adherence to accounting standards, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Collaborate with other executives to evaluate potential mergers, acquisitions, or strategic partnerships, conducting due diligence and financial assessments.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, reporting requirements, and financial laws, maintaining transparency and integrity in financial operations.
  • Collaborate with business units to identify emerging risks and trends.
  • Liaise with stakeholders, including executives, board members, regulators, and investors, providing clear and concise financial reports and insights.
  • Manage relationships with financial institutions, investors, and external auditors.
  • Provide risk-related support and guidance to business development initiatives and collaborate with internal audit and compliance teams on risk-related initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Risk Management, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Chartered Accounting or any related qualification.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive Finance experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Excellent leadership skills, business acumen, and personal integrity.
